Develop your night time group riding skills. Route is Grizzly and Skyline as far as Roberts; regroup and reverse route. Inclement weather (rain; significant threat; or starting temps below 45 degrees) postpones. More ride info is at http://www.abriz.net/gpc/rad.html including current raindate status. Please read that page in full before your first RAD ride.

Meet at 8:00 am for a 8:15 am start Rain Date: Sun Nov 6
Start Location: Cotati - Gravenstein Hwy Park-&-Ride (Westside)
Variation of Levi's Gran Fondo route, but minus the huge crowds and high cost ! Also, starting in Cotati rather than Santa Rosa. Here's the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17288801 There is no convenient lunch stop near the mid-point, so we will have a snack at Cazadero, 36 miles in, and a longer stop at the "C" store in Jenner (73 miles in). The plan is to keep up a good pace and finish before dark. However, to allow for any unanticipated delays, please bring lights! Chance of rain of 30% will likely postpone to Sunday rain date - please check for ride update.

Both rides start at Bill's house: 4207 Mountain View Ave, Oakland 94605.

Added: Metric version, 76KM (47M) with 4,500 feet. Metric version starts at 10:30AM, stops at 20.5 miles for lunch, same as 76M version. When emailing signup info, indicate which ride you plan on doing. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17484006
Both rides should end up at Bill's house around the same time for refreshments.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17239930 (76.0 miles, 6,049 feet)
Some of the usual East Bay hills. Rest stops at 24, 32 (lunch) and 58 miles. Note that the route listing shows a start one block from Bill's house - this was to make it exactly 76 miles. Meet at 5:30 pm for a 5:40 pm start
Start Location: North Berkeley BART
Join us on the First Full Moon Ride along the coast of the Berkeley, Richmond Marina. According to ancient beliefs “the highest energy occurs at the Full Moon, and this is the most powerful time for magical workings”, and based upon this belief we would like to use this energy, as we ride our bicycles along the coast, as a tool to materialize our most secret desires. It will be “completely dark” on our return, thus bring some good front and rear lights for “safety”, although it is possible that on a clear night, after the moonrise, which will occur that night at 17:39, most likely we will be able to use “only” the moonlight to lighten our paths on the trail. Route: Delaware, 7th St., Hearst, 4th St., Addison, bicycle-pedestrian bridge to the Bay Trail. Bring a road bike, mountain bike, commute bike … the bike that it is going to make you feel more at ease at night. We will ride as a Group. Dress warm, wear bright colors … and call Estella if you have any questions: 510.540.6449 (h), 510.725.8405 (c). I will bring enough cue sheets, you can preview it (but you will not be able to print it) Link to the cue sheet to preview it, by going to this limk:

Meet at 7:30 am Rain Date: Sun Nov 20
Start Location: Pleasanton - Neal & Railroad Ave
Today's ride is canceled due to the impending rainstorm — PoPs are 90%.
This is the classic GPC Del Puerto loop from Pleasanton. A fabulous variety of terrain for riding, sightseeing, climbing (including one 1.5 mile steep pitch, hence the "!" in the listing), descending, pacelining (optional), and a bit of craft beer drinking too (also optional).
In 120 miles we'll traverse the Livermore Valley; ride out to the Central Valley; skirt around Tracy and Patterson; climb Del Puerto Canyon to San Antonio Junction; climb away from the Junction and zoom down Mines Road; and finally re-traverse the Livermore Valley back to Pleasanton. (Side note for those who have ridden that "other" bike club's route recently: We follow a classic, different, and IMHO better route through both valleys — including the historic Hwy 33 through Vernalis and Westley.) The route includes 3 rest stops. It has no shortcuts or bailouts. A shorter (100 mile) option is available, starting in Livermore, but for this you must RSVP to the ride leader. RSVP's are appreciated, in any case, for map count.
Meet 7:30am, ready to ride, in Pleasanton at Railroad Ave just north of W. Neal (between First and Main Sts). Nice public restrooms are nearby, one block south. Prompt 7:40am departure. Be prepared for chilly morning weather. Bring lights in case of a later than planned return. Sunset is 4:55pm.
NWS PoPs 20% or more will likely postpone to Sunday. If weather is doubtful, contact ride leader by 9:00pm the night before or check the online listings for an update — don't assume anything.

Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Ride repeats on the Third Saturday of each month.
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks).

RSVP appreciated for express check-in / map count.

Both rides start at Bill's house: 4207 Mountain View Ave, Oakland 94605.
Note that 76 mile ride actually measured 6,700 feet when we test rode it. The correct link for the 76 mile ride is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17450989
At the end there will be birthday cake, beer and other food and drink. Street parking available. Email Bill with name, mobile #, emergency #, and bike make/color in advance. This speeds up the signin process and makes sure there are sufficient refreshments at the end. No presents!

Pleasanton - Neal & Railroad Ave
