Go to Bear Creek Rd, turn around and go to Pinole (Peet's or Bear Claw), return on Castro Ranch and SPDR (option to go back and over the Bears instead).

GPC Route: Orinda to Bear Claw Cafe
Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Europa Hof-Brau, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks). https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14580950. Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15 am start
Start Location: Anna Jean Cummings Park, Soquel
Start at Anna Jean Cummings park in Soquel at 461 Soquel San Jose Road. There's free parking all day, and it's situated in such a way where the climbing comes mid-day (you get to end with a big descent, yay!).
This is the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/23130677 (roughly 56 miles with ~4000 feet of climbing)
Join us for this fun, somewhat challenging loop. We'll stop for sausages at the Corralitos Market, and then a final "lunch" stop at the Summit market before our final descent.

Meet at 8:50 am for a 9:00 am start
GPC Route: Castro Valley to Sunol
Start Location: Castro Valley BART
Roll at 900 from steps in front of Castro Valley BART - Traverse the Dublin Grade to Foothill and Calaveras and then on to Sunol - Ohlone Regional Wilderness Park for a nice picnic lunch at the visitor's center. Snacks, restrooms and fresh spring water are available at the center. Elevation gain is just over 2000 feet. Lots of beautiful scenery on this route.
At mile 30.7, we will turn left and go .2 mile back into Sunol to the mini-market, then decide if we should return via route or instead (or split up and do both) loop back via Niles Canyon and Palomares road to add scenery and climbing (same distance) to return to start.
Leader: Bill Bagnell (510) 504-5401 text
Meet at 8:50 am for a 9:00 am start
PoE will again take a relatively flat route, this time from the Olympic staging area (end of Olympic Blvd or the lot just below that) to Sunol and back via the usual route through Danville. Brief stop in Sunol, longer stop at Peet's in Danville on the return. 52 miles, 2,000 feet.

Meet at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start
Start Location: Nicasio
A favorite ride – long but not-too-steep hills (well, at least two steep hills, out of Inverness and one out of the parking lot at the beach), lots of wildlife, a pristine ocean, picnic tables and facilities at lunch, and then a great bakery on the return home. We’ll meet in Nicasio and then head out through Olema and Sir Francis Drake through the Pt Reyes National Seashore to Drakes Beach. Bring lunch (or buy at the deli in Inverness Park along the way), snacks, water, and clothing appropriate for the weather (it is generally windy, and oftentimes downright cold out there). If yes, then a 30% or greater chance of rain will cancel.
Leader: Phil Morton (510) 852-9663
Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: Helen Putnam Park, Petaluma
This was incorrectly listed on June 24. The actual ride will be on June 30.
Based on the ride with the same name from 75 Classic Rides of Northern California/ Oetinger the start has been reoriented to minimize the driving from the bay area.
Bring plenty of water and some snacks to get you through the first part of the ride. We break in Freestone at Wild Flour Bread at mile 28 and again in Tomales at Mile 40. Also note, there are two well known and pretty tough hills after mile 50 (Marshall Wall and Wilson Hill). This makes the ride perhaps a bit tougher than advertised. Pavement quality is mixed with one long decent on rough pavement. Route sheet: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7005649

Start Location:
Castro Valley BART

I may be slow as I overdid it Sunday.

Friendly but hilly workout & skills ride. We have two pace groups — M and B — each usually with its own leader (Mark and Matt). Either group will give you a sustained hard workout and will help develop your skills in climbing, descending, drafting, pacelining, positioning, and sprinting. Please read ride details and route description at http://www.abriz.net/gpc/tues-ride.html. RAIN CANCELS.

Nicasio

PoE is now TM pace (to accomodate leader's need to slow down for a while) but swifter riders are welcome to start with us and vanish in the distance. We are starting at the firehouse (Oakland #6 at Skyline, Snake and Colton), going to Pinole via Fish Ranch, with various return possibilities. Coffee at either Peet's or Bear Claw, again depending on group think.
This route is 52 miles and 3,800 feet.

Short notice but I need a local, not too hilly ride on Saturday. We'll go from BART to Moraga, thence down St Mary's Road and the usual turns to Danville Blvd/San Ramon Blvd/Foothill to Sunol. Return the same way, stop at Danville Peet's for coffee. Real TM - that's all I can do right now. Please let me know in advance if you are coming.
