Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: Helen Putnam Park, Petaluma
This ride follows much of the northern loop of the Holstein 100 century. Cue text here: https://www.grizz.org/cue_sheets/H100K.txt
Please note that this will be my first time riding this route - although I'm pretty familiar with most of these roads, and I'm great at following cue sheets! The cue sheet has us start at a somewhat random intersection so I've changed the start to the park, which is only a mile away from said intersection. It does cost money for the day ($7) but it's safe and there are bathrooms! The route has a few food stops built in, so please bring $ for food (I believe the Freestone Bakery is cash-only), and/or your own fuel for the day!

Meet at 9:00 am
Start Location: Fremont - Visitor Center, Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge
Walt is turning 87! He continues to inspire us and will make his annual birthday trek up "Nike Hill". The climb is optional for everyone else. This year we will keep the celebration simple.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28516017
Meet at the large parking lot (left at the stop sign on Marshlands at the top of the hill, don't descend to the Dumbarton Bridge) above the Don Edward Visitor Center (restrooms) for helmet ribbons and lots of pictures. Then we will head to Coyote Hills to get the hard part done early as per Walt's request before taking the Alameda Creek trail to Isherwood, then the streets into Niles with a few regroups along the way. We will grab some ice cream, coffee and snacks at various locations and regroup at the Niles Plaza to relax and enjoy the day. There two choices for ice cream (a micro-creamery and a more traditional shop), a pour-over coffee shop and a taco truck. With so many sweets available we will forgo cake (no worries, he will have one at the Tour de Fuzz potluck).

GPC Route: Orinda to Bear Claw Cafe
Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Europa Hof-Brau, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks). https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14580950. Meet at 8:45 am for a 8:55 am start
Start Location: SF Market St and Ferry Bldg
Billy Goats are the most challenging hill climbs of SF Bay Area. The most comprensive listing of Billy Goats I've seen is on the Almaden Cycling Touring Club (ACTC) website at https://actc.org/routes/bg/index.php#local?region=all.
A GPC Billy Goat Ride will be a friendly yet challenging and scenic ride with approximately 1K of climbing per 10 miles (more or less). Ride length will be 60 to 80 miles so we can get going and get back in a reasonable amount of time with 1 or 2 efficient stop times to rest & refuel. There will be regroups along the way to keep us togeather. I often start or end these rides near BART to access more remote Billy Goats. This is the first but I'll attempt to organize a monthly ride or post it a week or two in advance.
This month we'll start close to home. Meet Downtown SF at the front of the Ferry building for a ride up and around Mt Tam and back. Its about 66 miles with 5600ft of climbing. 1st stop will be in Fairfax to prepare for the Billy Goats ahead (Fairfax/Bolinas Road and Ridgecrest) with a 2nd stop at the Summit of Mt Tam to enjoy the spectacular view while we refuel for the ride home. Feel free to email me at tdunscom@ix.netcom.com to let me know you're coming or have any questions. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/15830655.

— For the 44 mile ride, meet 10:00 a.m. across from the Marinwood Community Center: exit Hwy 101 at the Lucas Valley exit just north of San Rafael and head West on Lucas Valley Road. Make a right turn at Miller Creek Rd. and park on the street across from the community center.
— For the 24 mile ride, meet at 11:00 a.m. in Nicasio for an 11:15 departure. From Hwy 101, take the Lucas Valley Rd/Smith Ranch Rd Exit. Go 10 miles west to Nicasio Valley Road. Turn right and go 0.3 mile to a parking area with convenience store. You will pass the 44-mile bicycle riders on Lucas Valley, so please take extra care.

Start Location:
Fremont - Visitor Center, Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge

GPC Route:
Orinda to Bear Claw Cafe
Start Location:
Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
SF Market St and Ferry Bldg

This long-time Grizzly Peak classic ride goes through Valley Ford, Occidental, along the Bohemian Highway to Monte Rio, and through Guernville to lunch at the Korbel Champagne Cellars. Return is through Forestville and Bloomfield, with a few hills to liven things up. This is a fairly hilly ride, but with almost all of the climbing in about 20 miles after lunch. There will be two options: a T-paced ride (led by Jim Scott) and a TM ride (led by Alison Kuehner). All are welcome and we will work to accommodate the pace of whoever shows up to ride.

West Dublin Pleasanton BART
It's another pHilly ride. Meet outside the parking lot on the South side of the freeway. We warm up on Foothill to Sunol. Face down the traffic on Niles Canyon before the first real climb of the day. If you don't know Palomares, it's a classic California rural road. with very litle traffic. Lunch break in Castro Valley (optional bailout to BART). Or take on hill 2 - a steady climb up Redwood Road. We'll top off the climbing with the bump on Pinehurst South, and the leg killing top 2/3 mile on Pinehurst to get to Skyline. Finish with a descent on Tunnel Road to Peet's on Domingo. Route (subject to alteration if needed): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/862026

Daly City BART
First day: Daly City BART to Pescadero Hostel, including Devil's Slide and lunch in Half Moon Bay. 3L49
Second day: Santa Cruz after detouring to Butano State Park to commune with redwoods. 2L42
Tentative departure time is 9 AM, but those who are going will discuss the matter some. Hostel is $35, hot tub with a spectacular view is $8 extra.
Our plan is to return by bus and bus and BART, or bus and Amtrak, but some may want to cycle back the way we came or via San Jose.
Possibility of rain may cancel. I'll need to make reservations for the hostel, so let me know by September 25, although earlier is better.
