Meet at 9:00 am
GPC Route: Mt Tam loop with Bo-Fax return
Start Location: Fairfax Coffee Roastery
Pre-registration closed. You can sign in at the start.
Celebrate -- or get good and tired before you begin those holiday BBQ's and celebratory whatnot -- with a challenging ride on some of our iconic roads - Mt. Tam, Hwy 1, and Bo-Fax. From the Coffee Roastery in Fairfax (corner of Broadway Blvd and Bolinas Rd), we'll go up, up, up Bolinas Rd to Alpine Dam, Ridgecrest and the very top of Mt Tam. Then it's an about-face and return down to PanToll,, where we'll turn left and continue descending to Hwy 1 via Muir Woods Rd. From Muir Woods we're lumping along Hwy 1 (great views!) to Stinson Beach, where we'll stop in the park for lunch (bring or buy at the little local market nearby). Return by climbing Bo-Fax back to Alpine Lake, and up and on and down again to our start in Fairfax. Meet at 9:00, roll at 9:15. Note this is the long version of this ride, not the shorter version possible by heading directly down to Stinson Beach from PanToll. Be prepared for 56 miles with 8,300' of climbing on the day. Parking in Fairfax should be easier on the Sunday holiday. Post-ride ice cream -- very much deserved! -- at the Fairfax Scoop. Bring what you need, including a cue sheet if you are not familiar with the route. Pace will be TM and this is Not a no-drop ride, so both faster and slower riders should be prepared to navigate on their own if needed. Thanks to Lisa McPhate for posting the route in the GPC route library, and to Phil Morton and Janet Monks, who first took me on this ride.

GPC Route: Stafford Lake to Marshall
Start Location: Stafford Lake
Pre-registration
Deb's Diversions: The Wed Ride is a multi-pace social ride. The pace is LT all the way to TM and maybe faster.
Jaz decided that the ride to Heart’s Desire would be too cool, and Diablo looked a little too hot, so let’s do one of our favorites, the Marshall Loop--starting from our new starting place, Stafford Lake Park ($5 parking fee).
Ride out Novato Blvd to a right on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, and then a quick left on Hicks Valley and up and over the Marshall Wall to to Hwy 1. The Marshall store is not open on Wednesdays so bring your lunch. We’ll have a Regroup/snack/lunch at the Store, but there is no seating. I don’t find standing for lunch relaxing, so I will save some of my lunch for Pt Reyes Station where the Bovine Bakery might be open if we get there before 1:30. In any case, we can find supplemental treats and coffee in Point Reyes Station before the somewhat hilly return to Stafford Lake.
Pre-registration is is very strongly preferred. Use the link above. If you have problems signing up, email Chris or me, or another friend, and one of us can sign you up.
Meet at 6:45 pm for a 7:00 pm start
Join the club's virtual monthly business meeting at 7:00 pm. Optional social time from 6:45 pm to 7:00 pm. Check your email for an announcement with the agenda and details of how to join the meeting.

See the route on RideWithGPS to print a cue sheet or load it into your device.
Please pre-register if you can. Faster riders are welcome if they don't mind waiting for regroups. Please arrive by the meeting time. The first 10 miles may be unfamiliar, so you don't want to be chasing.

Avoid the bridge toll and ride Paradise Loop from Point Richmond! This route utilizes many popular bike trails and routes. There are no water or restrooms stops except for lunch at Woodlands Market at Mile 20 before our Camino Alto climb. Don't let the RWGPS link fool you; it doesn't include an extra ~500 feet of elevation gain from the bridge. 😀 There will be rolling regroups at major turns to keep the group together. This is not a no-drop ride; we will ride at a T-pace, which is defined as 10-12 mph on the Three Bears Loop.
We are meeting at the parking lot/restrooms/water fountain at the southwest corner of the park: corner of Dornan Drive and Brickyard Cove Road.
If you need to contact the leader on the day of the ride, please call or text (not email).

GPC Route: Eureka Canyon/Corralitos Loop
Start Location: Anna Jean Cummings Park, Soquel

I want to do 3 things on my birthday - hang out with fun people, ride bikes in awesome places, and eat delicious food! Come join me so we can do just that. This ride begins in mid-town Santa Cruz and follows the coast to Aptos, through the residential hills of Aptos to Corralitos and back along Summit Rd and Soquel San Jose Rd. One portion of Hames Rd (between Aptos and Corralitos) has a pretty steep (~11% grade at max), but relatively brief section before you reach the Corralitos Market. Eureka Canyon Road is a quiet forested road with a steady climb (between ~5% and 9% grade) and takes you to the Summit. Then we enjoy the long descent down San Jose - Soquel Ave back to our cars.
I always bring after-ride cupcakes to celebrate my birthday so please let me know if you plan to come and I'll be sure to reserve a cupcake in your name! Also, let's grab dinner somewhere in downtown Santa Cruz if you're up for the after-party.
California is reopening, it's summer time, it's my birthday...let's do this! Party on Wayne!

Save about 6 miles and a bit of climbing by skipping the out-and-back to the summit.

Join the club's virtual monthly business meeting at 7:00 pm. Optional social time from 6:45 pm to 7:00 pm. Check your email for an announcement with the agenda and details of how to join the meeting.

GPC Route:
Paradise Loop from Point Richmond
Start Location:
Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline
Pre-registration

Eureka Canyon/Corralitos Loop
Start Location:
Anna Jean Cummings Park, Soquel
Pre-registration

To balance out the flattish ride we did last week, here is a quite hilly ride. From Miller Creek we'll ride to Mt Tam Summit via Las Gallinas, Fawn Drive, and BoFax Rd. Then descend Pantoll to Stinson Beach for lunch. Return via Hwy 1 and Olema to Platform Bridge, Nicasio, and Lucas Valley. See the route on RideWithGPS.
Save about 6 miles and a bit of climbing by skipping the out-and-back to the summit.

We'll start in the Oakland hills at the Trudeau Center -- plenty of parking in the main lot, or on nearby streets. From there we'll head south on the scenic Redwood Rd to Castro Valley, take on Dublin grade before heading back north again through San Ramon. Peets in Danville will be a welcome break at the half way point in the ride to refuel. And then we head towards Walnut Creek and pick up the bike path that will bring us back through Moraga. A final climb up Pinehurst will bring us back to Sklyine. From this point, a number of riders will probably peel off but anyone parking at Trudeau will finish will a little decent at the end of Skyline. Estimated ride time is about 4.5 to 5 hours.
