Meet at 9:05 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: West Dublin Pleasanton BART
Pre-registration
Typo with the start location. We are meeting at Stoneridge Mall parking lot. This is 0.1 miles from West Dublin Pleasanton BART and south of I-580.
[RWGPS link] Classic loop featuring some classic climbs! We'll warm up with Dublin Grade, head up Palomares, do an "active recovery" through suburban sprawl, grind up the Calaveras Wall, and then make our way back through flat-ish country roads. Roll time is based on the Dublin-Pleasanton train scheduled to arrive at 8:59am.
Water and restrooms at Mile 18. Water and restrooms at Mile 34. Water, restrooms, and snacks at Mile 50. This means you should probably bring enough food to get you through two climbs and 50 miles. Bring electrolytes and at least two large water bottles; it will be warm!

A gravel or at least a gravel-adjacent bike is required; gentle gearing is recommended. Rest-stop at Fournée in Berkeley and potential final stop for beer at Ghost Town.

Typo with the start location. We are meeting at Stoneridge Mall parking lot. This is 0.1 miles from West Dublin Pleasanton BART and south of I-580.

GPC Route:
Bears Loop
Start Location:
Orinda - San Pablo Dam Rd and Bear Creek Rd
Pre-registration
Come test and develop your cycling skills. For new club members, this is a good ride to find your pace as measured by GPC (see link below). For experienced and advanced riders, send it!
The first rider is off at 10:01 and a rider a minute after that. 20% chance of rain cancels. The ITT is the only GPC ride where you have to be a member of the Club (insurance reasons), but you can join or renew right there at the start for $20/year. Pre-registration is mandatory.

This is a scenic, mixed-terrain tour of the East Bay steeps. Starting at Lake Merritt, we loop through Piedmont, Claremont, Montclair and the rest of the Oakland hills on road, with off-road detours through 'Dirt Tunnel', Redwood Regional, Joaquin Miller and Leona Heights. For the hillclimbers amongst you, we go in search of steep grades and less-trafficked streets, clearing over 6,000 feet of gain in forty miles. A gravel or at least a gravel-adjacent bike is required; gentle gearing is recommended. Rest-stop at Fournée in Berkeley and potential final stop for beer at Ghost Town.

El Cerrito Plaza BART

Please join us this Sunday for our Xiao Hui send-off, as she leaves the Bay to start her career as a tenured prof. This month we will start at El Cerrito Plaza BART (where free weekend parking is available), ride across RSR, and do a counter-clockwise loop along China Camp. Meet at 9:45 as usual and we will leave as close to 9:50 as possible. Check out the RWGPS route here. We’ll end at MJ’s house for a celebration in her backyard, which is not reflected on the route, but we will lead you there if you join us for the post-ride party! As said before, this is a little longer, but there is less climbing. RWGPS says that the elevation is 1,067, but add about 500 for RSR.

From Miller Creek we'll ride through Nicasio, Hick's Valley, and Chileno Valley. Into Petaluma on the newly repaved Spring Hill Road for lunch at Ray's Deli & Tavern. Return via Red Hill.
Shorten the ride to 49 miles by meeting us in Nicasio, probably about 10:20.
