Ride to Donut Alley in Larkspur for donuts! We will ride our bikes over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, and enjoy donut and coffee (instead of croissant and cocoa). **Bring cash!** We welcome new riders.
A large portion of the route is on dedicated bike path, but please be cautious going over train tracks in Richmond. We will have a bathroom and water stop at Richmond Marina Park about 6 miles in.

Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: De Anza College Parking Lot E
Pre-registration
This route follows scenic south bay roads I rode in my high school days. Starting at De Anza college we head up through Steven Creek park, taking the formidable Redwood Gulch road across to highway 9, then up to Skyline and the high point of the Santa Cruz mountains at Castle Rock park. We then have 25 miles of rolling downhill to Soquel and lunch. We come back up Mountain Charlie road to Lexington reservoir, down to Los Gatos, then along the edge of the Saratoga hills back to Cupertino. Note that 2/3 of the climbing is in the first half of the ride.
There is about a mile of gravel trail coming down from Lexington reservoir, and a mile on the shoulder of highway 17. The pavement on Mountain Charlie is poor, and many parts of the route are without cell phone access, so make sure you and your bike are prepared. We will follow neighborhood roads in cities to avoid traffic, so turn-by-turn nav is highly recommended.
Forecasts of 15% POP or temps above 90 in Los Gatos cancels, please check with the leader if you are unsure before driving to the start.
Start location and rest/lunch stops are marked on the route.

Meet at 9:40 am for a 9:50 am start
Start Location: Antioch BART
Pre-registration
[RWGPS route] Join us for a tour of the delta and out to our state capitol! This is a mostly flat ride with some interesting landmarks and diversions: bridges, the delta, waterfront country roads, and even a mansion. The CA-160 bridge is short and steep. On roads with no shoulder, we may break up into smaller groups and reconvene at predetermined points. Snacks, water, and restrooms at Rio Vista (Mile 17). Water and restrooms at Clarksburg (Mile 44). Beer and barbecue (with vegetarian options) in Sacramento. Bring lights if you'll bike home after the Amtrak ride. Weather-wise, it looks like it will be sunny and warm (as much as 90F); might be good to bring extra water.
This ride is designed to start with the BART train arriving at Antioch at 9:39am.
Riders are responsible for getting their own Amtrak tickets and getting on the train. Leaders will take riders to the train station in time for the 4:55pm Capitol Corridor/Amtrak train back to the East Bay. Riders may take a later train if they want. Note that there's a Buy One Get One Free deal with no advance purchase required; riders are welcome to self-organize to take advantage of the deal.
This is not a no-drop ride. We will ride at a T-pace, which is defined as 10-12 mph on the Three Bears Loop. Given the flatness of this ride, the average moving speed will probably be ~14 mph. Faster riders will have to wait, and slower riders will get dropped. Make sure you have a copy of the route.
Poor AQI and/or extreme heat will cancel this ride.

GPC Route: Miller Creek to Tomales (long version)
Start Location: San Rafael - Marinwood Community Center
Pre-registration
From Marinwood to Tomales via Nicasio and Chileno Valley, return via Hwy 1. This longer version of the ride comes into Tomales from the back side using Alexander, Fallon Two Rock, and Middle Roads.
There are some shorter options. You can start your ride in Nicasio to save 20 miles for the day. We should pass through there around 10:15. Also, if you are having trouble keeping up, you can skip the turn onto Alexander and ride straight into Tomales for the lunch stop. That saves about 4 miles. Please review the map ahead of time and be prepared to navigate this change on your own if you think you might want to do it.
There is often a faster (more like M pace) group on this ride, but we all come back together at frequent regroups and lunch.
We'll start when everyone who arrives by the meeting time is ready. If you arrive after the meeting time, you may have to chase. You can probably catch us at our regroup in Nicasio.

The first rider is off at 10:01 and a rider a minute after that. 20% chance of rain cancels. The ITT is the only GPC ride where you have to be a member of the Club (insurance reasons), but you can join or renew right there at the start for $20/year. Pre-registration is mandatory.

Lunch at Big Bottom Market in Guerneville on River Road, mile 23. I need to update RWGPS for it. 16228 Main Street. Sweetwater sort of steep climb. Downhill some 16 % descents, can be wet this time of year with cattle grates; I go slow downhill. Very scenic route. Ragle Ranch Park start, 500 Ragle Rd, Sebastopol, CA 95472.

Meet at 9:55 am for a 10:05 am start
Start Location: Rockridge BART
Pre-registration
Estimated elevation gain is 5.2k ft, so be prepared to climb and make sure your brakes are in good condition. A bike with least 35mm tires and 1-1 gear ratio is recommended. There are some steep sections both up and down on this ride, so be prepared for that. Expect trails to have some loose sections this time of year, and there are a few tricky sections. I included bishops walk on this route, but we may skip if we have a large group as that trail is steep and narrow. Feel free to contact ride leader if you have questions about the route.
There is no lunch stop so bring your own food. There will be multiple opportunities for water and bathrooms. Regroups will be called at the major junctions/water stops, however there is no sweep so some amount of self sufficiency with regards to navigation/mechanicals is expected. Cell service is intermittent in the parks. E-Bikes are not permitted on East Bay Regional Parks trails.

We're canceling the ride on 10/27 because ride leader is sick. Please join us next week on Thursday 11/3.
Please join us for a weekly Thursday evening ride. This is a short ride but with a steep climb! We’ll head up Virginia St and Spruce to the water fountain at Spruce/Grizzly Peak for our first regroup, then head out along Wildcat Canyon to South Park Rd. From there, we'll climb to the top of South Park once or twice (e.g. we’ll climb S. Park, descend and climb again if the mood strikes us). South Park is closed to cars, which makes it perfect for winter riding. If we complete 2 round trip ascents up South Park then back to N Berkeley Bart, expect about 2,300 feet of elevation gain. This is a great workout! Note that in past years this ride happened on Tuesday evening and started at Spruce/Grizzly Peak. We're changing this year to Thursday evening and start at N. Berkeley BART.
NOTE: This is a night ride. Come with bright front and rear lights (and make sure they work). 20% chance or greater of rain cancels the ride. Please contact ride leaders with any questions.

The RWGPS cue sheet is missing the continuation onto Platform Bridge (mi. 6.5) from Pt. Reyes-Petaluma Road and the right turn onto Sir Francis Drake after that (mi. 8.9). Here's a pdf version of the cue sheet.
Let's put on a couple of layers and ride out to Drake's Beach from Nicasio. The route takes us to Platform Bridge to Sir Francis Drake (SFD) for the first big hill. We'll skirt the more heavily trafficked part of SFD via Bear Valley before we get back onto SFD, which takes us all the way to Drake's Beach Road. If you don't pack a lunch, you can stop at either Inverness Park Market or Inverness Store. Lunch at Drake's Beach. Heading back to Nicasio, we'll go through Pt. Reyes Station, where folks are welcome to get a coffee or a snack to fuel up for the last 10 miles. Please check out the RWGPS route and come prepared knowing it, printed/written out, or loaded onto your device.

De Anza College Parking Lot E

Start Location:

Please join us for a weekly Thursday evening ride. This is a short ride but with a steep climb!

Important: Bring plenty of liquid and food. One possible water stop just past the half way point may or may not be available and no real food options once we pass Cazadero about 5 miles in.

Challenging ride through Wildcat Canyon and Tilden regional parks. We'll enter Wildcat via Spruce and Canon to climb Havey Canyon Trail as the sun sets, then climb Seaview Trail in the dark before descending Centennial Drive back to BART. Some of the climbs approach 15% on loose terrain, so wide tires and low gears are recommended.
Bring plenty of light with charged batteries. Ideally, mount one light on your helmet and another on your bars. Costumes optional.
