Leader: Mark Abrahams     (510) 524-1294
Meet at 5:30 pm for a 5:35 pm start
Start Location: Berkeley - Spruce & Grizzly Peak Blvd - Plaza
Pre-registration
UPDATE:

17:05 update. TODAY'S RIDE CANCELED. Ongoing rain on Grizzly Peak Blvd in Berkeley, roads are wet, and NWS Radar shows more showers headed directly this way.

16:30 update: Currently dry in Berkeley, but NWS radar shows rain showers further south in the ride area and headed this way, with yet more coming after that. If it is not actually wet out at 17:30 I will be at the ride start; but I would confine to Grizzly Peak repeats instead of riding the full route.

12:30pm update: Scattered showers this afternoon, but they may disperse in the late day.

This is the classic Tuesday night workout & skills ride, M-pace. Please read the ride details and route description at http://www.abriz.net/gpc/tues-ride.html. Bring your high energy, your high attention to safety, and your best bike handling and pack riding skills. Repeats every Tuesday through the last week of September. Preregistration is encouraged and closes at 4:30pm. No flashing lights please. No e-bikes please. Rain or bad AQI cancels. E-mail Mark if any questions.

Ride cancelled due to high rain predictions--plus it is raining now

Lunch in downtown Martinez in the plaza next to Starbucks. Bring your lunch or buy in Martinez. Return is via Alhambra Valley and over Pig Farm hill. Print your own cue sheet if you want one

Jill Neiman plans to lead the more challenging version that goes over Pig Farm twice (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/32130675). Let her know if you want to do this version--It might be helpful if she knows ahead of time, but you can also decide at the ride start.

PLEASE Pre-register. It makes check-in much easier. If you are bringing a buddy who is not a member, you can pre-register them, and that is especially helpful.

SUN MAY 14 3/TM/42 Sunday at Pt Reyes -- Bear Valley to Chimney Rock
Leader: Stephanie Clarke     (510) 423-1873
Meet at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start
GPC Route: Pt. Reyes Lighthouse
Start Location: Point Reyes Bear Valley Visitor Center
Pre-registration

Can't make Saturday's Worker's Century? Not up for heading in-land and dealing with summertime heat? Let's take a page out of the Wednesday's book and head to the coast where moderate temperatures should reign and the elephant seals are still on the beach. We'll start at the Bear Valley Visitor's Center in Pt Reyes Nat'l Park, in the lot across the road from the visitor center itself. Large clean bathrooms and water available at the start. From there it's a bit more strenuous effort to get to Chimney Rock than stopping at Drake's Beach, but worth it to have lunch at the picnic tables serenaded by the resident elephant seal pups/teenagers. Beautiful purple Iris may also still be in bloom. Lunch will be at Chimney Rock, but optional pre- or post-lunch climb out to the Lighthouse for anyone who wants it (the leader will not be joining you for that!) Bring lunch or order ahead from Inverness Park Market: https://orders.cake.net/10021940 [they can be very slow, especially on weekends, so pre-ordering is wise if you know you want a sandwich]. Two water bottles are in order because there's no water out at Chimney Rock (though available at either the Lighthouse or Drake's Beach if you are up for the steep pitches involved for either option). It's always wise to bring a windjacket for the coast, and of course a bike in good working condition. Rain will cancel, but that's not in the forecast, so let's take advantage of our great spring weather and ride! Pre-registration is appreciated.

Predicted high in Winters 76℉ compared to 56 ℉ in Nicasio. Let's go to Winters!

We will ride a 66 mile loop up Pleasants Valley to Winters for lunch, then back via Lake Berryessa and Wooden Valley. All the climbing is bunched in the second half of the ride.

From the south, take Hwy 80 and take the Suisun Valley/Pittman Rd exit. From Oakland or east of the hills Hwy 680 to Hwy 80 is probably faster. Go left on Suisun Valley Rd. After about 1.7 mi go left on Rockville Rd. The bike store is on the left. Park all the way in the rear of the lot, not in front of any of the stores.
