SAT JUN 3 4/TM/84 Stinson Beach - Bolinas Loop starting at Rockridge BART
Leader: Hyon Bae     (510) 755-8171    text
Meet at 7:50 am for a 8:00 am start
Start Location: Rockridge BART
Pre-registration

The forecast is for 70F on Saturday. Let's do a loop in Marin via Stinson Beach - Bolinas - Alpine Dam - Fairfax. There will be a nutrition break at Stinson Beach. I am thinking a lunch stop at Gott's in Greenbrae. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a large variety of foods. We can add a break in Fairfax if needed.

For those who want to join further North, before Richmond Bridge. Let's meet up at Raymond's Pizza (130 Railroad Ave, Richmond, CA 94801) at 9:15. This is also an option for those who want to shorten the ride. I believe starting and ending at Raymond's shortens the ride about 30 miles.

Please bring all the ancillary food and equipment appropriate for a 85 mile road ride.

Leader: Jessica Jensen     (510) 508-6389    text
Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: North Berkeley BART
Pre-registration

Let's do this 50-mile route with bits and pieces cobbled together from the Grizzly Peak Century, including the new Wildcat detour through the Arlington.

There are quite a few ways to shorten this route and/or make it less hilly. We can discuss at the start of the ride. The goal is to get back to North Berkeley by 2PM because there is a Century Coordinator meeting happening at 3PM that many of us need to attend.

We can have a quick-ish stop at Peet's for snacks, water, and bathrooms in Orinda at roughly Mile 28.

Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: North Berkeley BART
Pre-registration

***Updated ride!

Come join the T-paced version of the co-listed TM ride this Saturday! This ride is open to everyone, and is also timed with the intention that any T-paced Century Coordinators can make it to the Century Coordinator’s meeting later on in the day.

We’ll take a slightly flatter route than the TM group, starting with them at North Berkeley Bart and working our way through the East Bay flats and around the hills to SPDR, and then continuing on to Moraga to get our climbin’ in on Pinehurst and Grizzly Peak, with the always spectacular descent down Spruce as the grand finale (GPC coordinators can also go directly to the meeting from Grizzly Peak, using the TM route).

The current route is about 41 miles and 2800 ft of climbing, but we can also add in Bears if the consensus is that we need more! :)

The link to the route is below - see you there!!!

Start Location: Sebastopol - Ragle Rd/Covert Lane

Sweetwater from Sebastopol. Sweetwater Springs Road, Guerneville, Monte Rio, Wild Flour bakery. Trying out modified route of what I usually ride alone so I can go to Wild Flour Bakery before ride starts and load up on goodies for friends. First stop, 12.8 miles, bathroom. Sweetwater Springs Road sort of steep climb, 15% and close to 17% grades with cattle grates on Sonoma County rough roads; first time going this direction. Lunch at Lightwave Coffee and Kitchen, mile 33.6. Very scenic route. Ragle Ranch Park start, 500 Ragle Rd, Sebastopol, CA 95472.

SUN JUN 4 3!/TM/58 Altered Primavera 100K
Leader: Jessica Jensen     (510) 508-6389    text
Meet at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am start
Start Location: West Dublin Pleasanton BART
Pre-registration

I had so much fun in March, I’m posting again!

Let's do this altered version of the Fremont Freewheelers' Primavera 100K. This route starts the loop in Dublin instead of Fremont, which means we get Palomares done early while we still have climbing legs - and also gets us in and out of Niles Canyon early (we'll only be on it for ~2 miles).

We'll have a brief stop at Mile 20 at Starbucks in Fremont, at Mile 35 at Ed Levin park in Milpitas, and Mile 49 at the little stand in Sunol off 84. Please be sure to have enough food and water for yourself, and a copy of the cue sheet as well. I'll do my best to keep folks together with rolling regroups, but will also expect a level of self sufficiency on a ride of this distance.

Together we'll enjoy Dublin Canyon, Palomares, Calaveras (including the wall!), and Foothill back to Pleasanton. Come join me and your fellow Grizzlies for a fun day on the bike!

Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15 am start
GPC Route: Carquinez Loop Clockwise via Bay Trail
Start Location: Pinole Valley Park
Mandatory pre-registration with max 40 riders

Meet at 10 for 10:15 departure. We'll follow the Bay Trail through Hercules to avoid some of the busy, hilly riding on San Pablo Ave (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36929213). Lunch in downtown Martinez in the plaza next to Starbucks. Bring your lunch or buy in Martinez. Return is via Alhambra Valley and over Pig Farm hill. Print your own cue sheet if you want one. On a relative scale, Pig Farm looks warmish for Sunday - check the weather and bring enuf water.

Some may wish to do the more challenging version that goes over Pig Farm twice (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/32130675). Let us know if you want to do this version-- we may wish to appoint a secondary leader for this segment.

PLEASE Pre-register. It makes check-in much easier. If you are bringing a buddy who is not a member, you can pre-register them, and that is especially helpful.

Rain Cancels.

SAT JUN 17 3/T/74 Real-Time Carb Loading: Arizmendi & Friends Tour
Leader: Mary Ann Jawili     (661) 343-5737    text
Meet at 8:45 am for a 9:00 am start
Start Location: SF - Ferry Building Front
Pre-registration
UPDATE:

This ride is timed to align with the SF/Millbrae/SFO BART train scheduled to arrive at Embarcadero Station at 8:37am. The Ferry Building is half a mile from the BART station.

[RWGPS route] We're doing a tour of all five Arizmendi locations, plus a couple other bakeries. From the Ferry building, ride along the Embarcadero and through Dogpatch to (#1) Neighbor Bakehouse and then (#2) Arizmendi Mission. We'll take the detour up Twin Peaks to work up an appetite for (#3) Arizmendi Sunset. Then, we'll ride through GGP. Between crossing the GG and RSR bridges, we'll hit up (#4) Arizmendi San Rafael. We'll visit the (#5) Arizmendi Emeryville, and then (#6) Cheeseboard (an Arizmendi cousin), burn it off with a climb up Grizzly Peak, and then descend to "dessert" at (#7) Arizmendi Lakeshore. The route and ride ends at Lakeshore.

While this is a relatively social ride with lots of stops, we will go at a strong T pace. Bakery stops will range in duration: Some enough to pick up food, others enough to just “check in”. Please have a copy of the route to help you navigate through SF. In Albany (Mile 48), we'll do a time check; if it's after 4pm, we might skip the Grizzly Peak climb to bag Cheeseboard, Emeryville, and Lakeshore directly.

I am leading this ride as part of Noah Swartz’s Rando Cat Birthday Bash. If you would like to officially participate in the Rando Cat, please email me.

Join us for a social mixed terrain ride. We recommend tires wider than 32mm and gearing easier than 1:1. This is a T-pace ride with some steep and rocky climbs. Due to the early sunset, we will keep regroups short. Bright lights and a jacket. Riders are welcome to peel off at any point to get in more riding or head on home. Leader: Mark Nienberg     (510) 812-9312    text
Meet at 9:30 am
Start Location: San Rafael - Marinwood Community Center
Pre-registration

It might finally hit 70 ℉ in Marin this week. Let's celebrate with a quite hilly ride. From Miller Creek we'll ride to Mt Tam Summit via Las Gallinas, Fawn Drive, and BoFax Rd. Then descend Pantoll to Stinson Beach for lunch. Return via Hwy 1 and Olema to Platform Bridge, Nicasio, and Lucas Valley. See the route on RideWithGPS.

Save about 6 miles and a bit of climbing by skipping the out-and-back to the summit.

Pre-registration is appreciated. We'll start when everyone who arrives by the meeting time is ready. If you arrive after the meeting time you may have to chase. You can probably catch us at the Fairfax police station (mile 5.5), where we will pause for water and restroom.

There is sometimes a faster (more like M pace) group on this ride, but we all come back together at frequent regroups and lunch.

Sweetwater Springs Road sort of steep climb, 15% and close to 17% grades with cattle grates on Sonoma County rough roads; first time going this direction.

Meet at 10 for 10:15 departure. We'll follow the Bay Trail through Hercules to avoid some of the busy, hilly riding on San Pablo Ave (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36929213). Pictures from past rides: [1][2][3] E-bikes are not allowed on this route's trails.

Meet us at the southeast corner of Cutting Avenue and the Ohlone Greenway [Google Maps street view] We have a hard roll time of 5:35pm.

Join the club's virtual monthly business meeting at 7:00 pm. Optional social time from 6:45 pm to 7:00 pm. Check your email for an announcement with the agenda and details of how to join the meeting.

Meet at the BART exit on the south side of the highway at Stoneridge Mall Road. See the map link above for the exact location. If you drive, leave time to find a safe place to park and then ride to the meeting location. I'm not sure if Stoneridge Mall will ticket cars left there all day.

We'll ride out Foothill to Sunol and then Calaveras to Milpitas. Lunch will be at a taqueria on Sierra Road in Milpitas (mile 29). After lunch we tackle the difficult three mile climb of Sierra Road and loop back on Felter to Calaveras.

You can shorten the ride a little and make it considerably easier by skipping the Sierra-Felton loop and rejoining the group at the top of Calaveras.
