Meet at 8:15 am for a 8:30 am start
GPC Route: Half Moon Bay - Gazos Creek - Tunitas Creek Variations
Start Location: Half Moon Bay - Fire Station
Come out and celebrate Kurt & Sherie's Birthdays! We'll get an early start to beat the summer heat. Start off with the traditional and wonderfully scenic 20-mile roll down Hwy 1 for coastal views and a short visit to Pigeon Point Lighthouse, then a short sprint further south to Gazos Creek Road. Wax poetic on the gentle, lesser traveled spur up to South Fork Gazos Creek Road before rejoining Gazos Creek/Cloverdale Road to Pescadero to share a picnic lunch in the back yard of Norm's Market ("world famous" artichoke bread, sandwiches, pastries, coffees). Bucolic vistas meet nicely patched pavement along the pleasant but arduous climb up the old Stage Road with a (rolling) regroup in San Gregorio, continuing on Stage Road northward to Hwy 1. A quick and breezy descent along the highway to Tunitas Creek Road, regroup/refreshments at the Bike Hut and then up the flats and early climbs on Tunitas Creek Road until Lobitos Creek Road before cutting back toward the coast, sticking to back roads (Verde, Purisma Creek, and a final short, celebratory, leg-burning ascent up Higgins Canyon Road) with just enough rolling and flat miles on the home stretch back to Half Moon Bay to work out the lactic acid. TM-pace Leader: Kurt Doelling; T-pace Leader: Sherie Reineman. TM-pace and T-paced riders used to longish, sustained climbs (4800 ft elevation gain) at 11.5 mpg avg or faster will enjoy good camaraderie on this route. Straight math would put this ride at a "4" but we rate it a "4!" in elevation gain, as roughly 2/3 of the climbing is in the last 1/3 of the ride. Call ride leaders w/ ??. Meet at 8:00 am for a 8:15 am start
Start Location: Woodside Town Hall
This ride follows some of the most beautiful and challenging roads in the Santa Cruz mountains range. From Woodside we climb Old La Honda road, then drop down to San Gregorio on La Honda Rd. Stage Road then takes us to our first break in Pescadero. Cloverdale and Gazos Creek roads take us to Highway 1, which we follow to our next break in Davenport. After climbing up Bonny Doon and Pine Flat roads, we'll head right back down to Felton for lunch. After a few miles of gentle slope Zayante Road gets steep and eventually takes us up to Skyline, which we follow to the summit at 3100'. We'll stop for water (and maybe a coke) at the fire station, then follow Skyline all the way back to La Honda road for our descent back to Woodside. Please note that many of these roads are remote and rugged, with no services of any kind for long stretches. There are also no bailouts past Pescadero. You should be confident you and your machine can get around this loop before starting; this is not a ride to test your limits or to eke out the last millimeter of your tires, chain or cables. RSVP is required to one of the leaders above. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/15169058 Carpooling is highly encouraged for companionship and lower emissions footprint.

Meet at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start
Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Ride repeats on the Third Satuday of each month.
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks).

We will ride over the Bears to the Benicia Bridge, through Cordelia, and on to Gordon and Wooden Valleys in Solano County. We can rendezvous there and ride home together. The main group will utilize the Tower Markets in Cordelia and Rockville for food/rest stop. This route is often a good opportunity to practice pacelines and fight headwinds. Route at RWGPS at http://tinyurl.com/hktsyr9 RSVP email appreciated for cue sheet count.

Start Location: Petaluma - Walnut Park
This long-time Grizzly Peak classic ride goes through Valley Ford, Occidental, Monte Rio, along Bohemian Highway and through Guernville to lunch at the Korbel Champaine Cellars. Return is through Forestville and Bloomfield, with a few hills to liven things up. This will be a slower-paced version of the ride, so slower riders are welcome (and everyone will be expected to keep to the pace of the group.)
Leader: Stephanie Clarke (510) 558-9614
Meet at 9:30 am for a 9:45 am start
Start Location: Fairfax Coffee Roastery
Rumor has it that bikers can get through Alpine Dam and Bo-Fax Road on the weekends. So we'll go on an adventure and see what's happening on the mountain. We’ll start in Fairfax, climb up to Alpine Dam, then up the Seven Sisters to Ridgecrest, followed by the descent of Panoramic Highway directly to Stinson Beach for lunch in the park. A quick roll along the lagoon will bring us to Bolinas-Fairfax Road and our return trip up back to Fairfax. Post-ride recovery stop to be determined. Bring your climbing legs. If in fact we cannot get through the dam, we'll adjust and come up with an alternate route, albeit one with less climbing.

Woodside Town Hall

We venture to the north ends of the two valleys, right up to the Napa County border. For those who wish a slightly more leisurely day, you can enjoy a (leaderless) sit-down lunch in one of the two cafe options in Rockville (where there is also a bike shop).

Fairfax Coffee Roastery
