Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15 am start
Rode a few times with SRCC but never followed route slip; they always change the way part way through ride. There are a few trails where there’s loose dirt; ridden them on 23’s before; look at route. May be some bumps along the way but I'm going to give it a shot. I want to stick to route slip to see how well it works so others can use it later to lead rides. If you want to try it out with me meet at 10 am for 10:15 am start. Start on Morris street by The Barlow in Sebastopol near Laguna Park Way. A good address close by is Key Auto Body, 250 Morris St, Sebastopol, 95472. It’s a gorgeous and scenic ride. Also, we are approximately 5 miles from Wild Flour Bread if you want to return after ride to purchase more; I always do. See route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/24512555

Meet at 9:30 am
Start Location: Livermore - Ernie Rodrigues Softball fields
Postponed until tomorrow due to power outages, wind, traffic, etc.
Note the new start location, which has rest rooms and water.
We'll ride out and back on Mines Road for a total of 70 miles, which you can shorten to 60 by stopping at the junction rather than continuing to the elbow. BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH, as the Junction Cafe is closed on Thursdays and there is no other food option. We will probably use the junction's picnic tables for lunch, and we can probably get water at the fire station.
Check back here for possible status update if the fire and wind situation worsens, but at the moment (Monday evening) the prediction for Livermore is pretty good.

Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Meet and sign-in at 9:00, introductions at 9:15, then roll. The first 7.5 miles all pace groups ride together at a social pace...you'll ride with club members you might not see for the rest of the month. After that, we split into five separate pace groups. The pace groups are named after musical tempi: Largo, Adagio, Andante, Allegretto, and Presto. Click on the tempo for the exact route. More information about this ride, excluding route details, is posted on-line at http://www.grizz.org/rides/assr.php. Rain cancels. If weather is questionable, or for other questions, contact ASSR Coordinator John Buenfil. Leaders TBA.

Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: Fremont BART
Join me for this beautiful ride following the Primavera 100K course: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29038410
We'll start at Fremont BART and then meet up with the official route at Mission High School. We'll stop for food in Sunol at about mile 35, but please bring plenty of water and snacks. We'll finish the ride by heading straight to the end-of-summer BBQ right off of Niles Canyon (it's on the way back to BART!).
Options: If you need to miss the party, I can direct you straight back to BART, no problem. But you should come and grab a drink at least! :) You can also cut off about 20 miles by heading straight back to Niles after Sunol, but you'll be super early for the party if you plan to attend that. Perhaps another group can lead a later ride doing this shorter option...

Meet at 10:10 am
Start Location: Rockridge BART
LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME! Ride with us from the Berkeley/Oakland area to the Party. We'll ride familiar roads--through Temescal and Montclair to Skyline, down and over Redwood to a Regroup at Redwood Canyon Golf Course. After regenerating our energy, we’ll ride thru Castro Valley to Palomares, a significant climb that we used to love, but don’t ride often since Niles Canyon became more unfriendly. But we will be on Niles Canyon for only a short segment on our way to the Club Barbecue in Fremont (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31268531). The ride is listed as T pace, but, if you can follow the gps track and cue sheet, all paces are welcome. Return is via Fremont BART, a short flat ride from the Barbecue.
Chris and Pat plan to be on the BART train scheduled to arrive at 10:08. We will meet you at the bike racks out in front of the station. If you want to meet us enroute, let us know.

Meet at 3:00 pm
Please join us for a BBQ and pool party to cap off the summer in Fremont at 3PM. This is a members-only party. The club will provide all of the food and refreshments, but you are welcome to bring goodies if you'd like to add to the party - although certainly not required!
The party will be held at Jessica Jensen's family home in Niles at 38498 Canyon Heights Drive, Fremont. It's a flat 2 miles away from Fremont BART. There's plenty of room for bikes, party goers, and ensuing festivities! Plenty of (free) street parking available as well.
Check the ride schedule and GPC-talk for different ride lengths and paces throughout the day, culminating at the party at 3PM. Join a ride, then join the party, or just join one or the other.
Please RSVP here so we can get a headcount for food: http://bit.ly/gpc-oct-2019-bbq

Meet at 8:30 am
Start Location: Richmond BART
NOTE EARLIER START TIME! Richmond to Davis one-way. Return via Amtrak train.
Be on the BART train that arrives Richmond BART at 8:25 am. Meet on the East side of the station at the corner of 19th and Nevin. If you must drive, park in the lot at the corner of Barrett and 24th Street and meet the BART riders there at about 8:40 am.
We will ride about 86 miles to Davis via Alhambra Valley and the Benicia Bridge. Here is the route on RideWithGPS. Stops will be at miles 18 (Nancy Boyd Park), 43 (Rockville), and 71 (Winters).
Return trains depart Davis at 3:53 and 5:00 pm. We will probably catch the 5:00 unless everyone is motivated and we have no misfortune. Bring a valid photo ID to buy your return ticket, which costs $23. You can also buy a ticket ahead of time online or using the Amtrak phone app. I recommend this to avoid the stress of waiting in line to purchase a ticket while the train is approaching. The 3:53 Amtrak train gets to Richmond BART at 5:03 pm. The 4:55 train arrives at about 6:10. (BART and Amtrak stations are in the same place).
Bad weather will cancel. Please check back here for any changes or cancellations.

Start Location: Millbrae BART
There are delays on BART announced for 10/19. If you are taking BART, please RSVP by text to Pat so we know who is trying to arrive by BART.
Join us for a ride from Coyote Point Park in San Mateo southward on the Bay Trail. We will bike up to 20 miles on a flat, paved trail along open water, marshes, sloughs, small sandy beaches and residential open spaces. We’ll look for returning ducks and passerines, shorebirds, Elegant Terns and raptors. See e-bird list: https://ebird.org/barchart?r=L997003&yr=all&m=. Leaders will arrive at Millbrae BART on 8:51 train. We will bike on city streets to Bay Front park, where we will look for birds; and then continue to the parking lot in Coyote Point Park (described below) by about 9:40 where we will meet participants who choose to drive. Dress for the weather (layers), and bring snacks, lunch and water, since we won’t pass places to buy. Bicycle helmets required. Rain Cancels. If the weather is questionable, send your e-mail address to Pat the night before the ride to receive news on the status of the ride.
Directions for drivers: IF YOU ARE DRIVING, LET PAT KNOW BY EMAIL or TEXT. Navigate to the Coyote Point Yacht Club Parking lot (1820 Coyote Point Drive [37.5859941, -122.3162674]). You will pass a pay station at the park entrance, with pay kiosk ($6) which is on Coyote Point Drive about 600 ft after the intersection with Airport Blvd. You should plan to be at the parking lot ready to ride by 9:40. If the BART riders have not arrived by 9:40, text Pat, and scout the area for birds. There is a restroom at the nearby Eucalyptus picnic area.

Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Europa Hof-Brau, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks). https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14580950. Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15 am start
Start Location: Sebastopol - Ragle Rd/Covert Lane
10/9/19. Pre-ride report.
I managed it fine with 700x25 tires. The gravel is not really deeper than 1 1/2-2 inches, and it's only for short stretches. I recorded the ride at https://ridewithgps.com/trips/40863656 with some pictures of the gravelly bits. I took it slow and steady (not so slow that you come to a complete stop, keep pedaling) through the gravel. If you end up walking some of it, that won't add much time.
If I forget to mention it at the start of the ride, I want to remind you to leave room for your fellow riders in the tricky bits.
10/2/19 Apparently the first few flat pot-holed miles of Willow Creek Road have been rehabilitated with deep chunky gravel. So no more muddy bits. 32 mm tires may be a better option. Watch this space for more details.
Meet outside Ragle Ranch Park at Ragle Road and Covert Lane, in Sebastopol.
We'll take a fairly direct route to Occidental, and then out to the mouth of the Russian River. After we cross the river the fun starts. Willow Creek Road goes for about six miles through farmlands and potholes. Most likely there will be one or two muddy bits. Then there's a closed gate across the road. After that it's a peaceful climb through the redwoods with no cars and it's quite rideable with road tires. Return via Freestone. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31144551
RSVP to Phil required. If it rains a lot between now and Oct 20 the road may be too muddy to be enjoyable, so I will probably cancel the ride.
Carpool recommended; contact Phil to arrange it.

Start Location:
Livermore - Ernie Rodrigues Softball fields

Fremont BART

Richmond BART

(Map of Park here https://parks.smcgov.org/sites/parks.smcgov.org/files/CoyotePointMap-Nov2018-FINAL-web) This ride is co-listed with Golden Gate Audubon, with Cathy Bleier as co-leader.

Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Europa Hof-Brau, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks). https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14580950.
