GPC Route: Orinda to Bear Claw Cafe
Start Location: Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Meet 9:45 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. roll-out. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks).

Friendly but hilly workout & skills ride. We have two pace groups — M and B — each usually with its own leader (Mark and Matt). Either group will give you a sustained hard workout and will help develop your skills in climbing, descending, drafting, pacelining, positioning, and sprinting. Please read ride details and route description at http://www.abriz.net/gpc/tues-ride.html. RAIN CANCELS.
Oakland - Lake Temescal
(Parking is free on weekdays should you need to drive). We will do a short loop on neighborhood streets to warm up our legs before ascending the gentle climb of Tunnel Road onto Skyline down Redwood and back through poetic Pinehurst. Weekly variations of the route to include Butters Canyon and others. Our route(s) will strive to ride where the car traffic is NOT. Lights, helmet and a layer/vest recommended. Sunset in May will be after 8PM. Whereas this ride will strive to be inclusive, please be mindful that there is considerable climbing. (Riders also have an option to abridge ride by NOT climbing Pinehurst and doubling back on Skyline) . Cue sheets only available with prior request. http://www.strava.com/routes/4730544 OR http://bit.ly/1rmdHf8

Berkeley Hills Road Race is on May 7 on the Bears loop. Hence ITT is rescheduled to May 21. First rider is off at 10:01 and a rider a minute after that. Rain cancels. The ITT is the only GPC ride where you have to be a member of the Club (insurance reasons), but you can join or renew right there at the start for $15/year. Pre-registration is appreciated.

GPC Route:
Orinda to Bear Claw Cafe
Start Location:
Orinda BART NW corner of parking lot

This ride got rave reviews last August despite the 100 degree heat on the final climb. Hopefully it's even nicer in May! This ride could be called "Dessert Before Dinner", since it starts with a 10+ mile descent and finishes with a climb of similar length. See: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/9130057 for the elevation profile and prelim route sheet. Directions: Take the Summit Rd. exit from Highway 17 South. Meet at the Loma Prieta School District Office on Summit Rd about 3 miles SE of the intersection of Summit and HWY 17. We'll stop for lunch at Cactus Corner, about 25 miles in and hope that they still offer 1/2 price sandwiches on Sundays. TM Ride Leader: Kurt Doelling.. T Ride Leader: Sherie Reineman.
