Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start
Start Location: Solvang - Royal Copenhagen Inn
We will ride to the Summit of Mt. Figueroa via the east side, which is very remote with one mile of rough dirt and water crossings. It is less steep then the West side, but has more climbing. After the summit, we will descend down the West side to Los Olivos for lunch at Panino. Return to Solvang via Alamo Pintado or Ballard Canyon. We have many cue sheets, routes and possibilities, you are welcome to extend, shorten, or lead an additional ride in competition with this ride. If you plan on joining us, please let us know in advance, you must attend the happy hour / route planning meeting the night before, or check in with us, so that you are aware of any changes to the route, start time or start location. 30% PoP may cancel, but since this is an adventure ride, temps above 90 and below 30, and hordes of locusts will still allow the ride to continue.

Meet at 8:20 am for a 8:30 am start
Your overworked PoE leader is unable to lead on this day. PoE riders will start at the usual hour at the firehouse on Skyline and Colton in Oakland and will take the closed but bikeable Redwood Road to Castro Valley and other locations. Micky Bloom will "lead," others may follow.
The PoE (Peloton of Elders) ride now changes start location and route weekly. M-pace but depending on demand there may also be a TM option. Check the online ride calendar Monday evening for the week's start location, route and rain updates. Despite the name, cyclists of all ages are welcome. Email leader with name, mobile, emergency #, and bike make/color in advance. This speeds up the signin process.

Start Location: Berkeley - Spruce & Grizzly Peak Blvd - north side
Saturday 9:30pm update: It rained this morning, but Sunday looks sunny; so the ride is ON. The route: Crockett, Diablo Jtn, Diablo Deli - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/20097706
If the ASSR was rained out, then we will ride the usual Presto route of the month, but with no stop at Orinda BART and no all-club social segment. Your meetup choices are: (1) Spruce St & Grizzly Peak Blvd in Berkeley (meet 8:30am sharp, ready to ride; roll 8:35am); or (2) Wildcat & SPDR (be at the northeast corner, ready to ride, by 9:00am); or (3) arrive at Orinda BART on the 08:45 train, meet any other Prestos who were also on the train, and ride together to Wildcat/SPDR. If coming by BART, please RSVP so we'll know to wait a bit if the train is delayed.
This ride will happen only if the ASSR Presto was rained out (or significantly shortened) and if Sunday's weather is ok. To confirm, or if Sunday's weather is doubtful, contact ride leader by 9:00pm the night before — don't assume anything

Meet at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm start
Start Location: Berkeley - Addison and Bolivar
Join us on our April Full Moon Ride along the coast of the Berkeley, and Richmond Marinas. According to ancient beliefs “the highest energy occurs at the Full Moon, and this is the most powerful time for magical workings”; we would like to use this energy, as we ride our bicycles along the coast, as a tool to materialize our most secret desires. With the new daylight savings, when the sun slowly begins to initiatiate his decline, until his complete disappearance beyond the horizon, we will be able to watch the magical metamorphosis of the sky, going from a soft blue, to a palid blue tinted of reddish-orange overtones, lavender, violet … And at that moment we will see the the magnificent rise of the Full Moon. A fresh, savory meal will be awaiting for us at Luca Cucina Italiana, 2057 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, 510.649.9718, where we will immerse ourselves in a rich tapestry of aromas, and flavors; with a glass of red wine, will have an oblation for Selene, the Moon Goddess to show her our gratitude, and a toast for all the Full Moon Lovers; with this in mind some of the riders may bring wine to share. Please, let us know if you will be dining with us, thus we can let the restaurant know. Bring the bike that it is going to make you feel more at ease. Dress warm, wear bright colors, and bring good lights … We will meet at Aquatic Park, in Berkeley, at the feet of the pedestrian bridge, intersection of Bolvar Dr. and Addison St. We will ride as a Group.. If the weather is dubious please check the listing for a weather update the night before or call the leaders. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Meet at 7:20 am for a 7:30 am start
Start Location: Domingo Peet's
Because Redwood Road is closed indefinitely, we will substitute the Century South Loop as the route to Castro Valley (Skyline to Golf Links, past the Oakland Zoo and up Lake Chabot Road). This does not meaningfully change the total milage, the amount of climbing, or the anticipated time to meet up at the Castro Valley Peets.
Meet at 7:20 for a 7:30 start. Or join later at Castro Valley
Join Melissa K. for some or all of her birthday ride of 50 miles + 50 km. Meet at Peets at the Claremont Hotel. Tunnel, and Redwood to Castro Valley, then over the Dublin Grade and up the Iron Horse Trail to Pleasant Hill. From there, it's over the hills and back to Berkeley, including Pig Farm, the Bears and Wildcat. Rest stops at Peets in Castro Valley, lunch in Danville, and another stop at Pleasant Hill. Bring food too, since there are no supplies once you start to climb Pig Farm.Enjoy coffee, beer, or other refreshment of choice on Solano Avenue at the end of the ride to celebrate.
Lots of options to cut the ride short if you can't take off a whole day during the week. Meet up for a later start at Castro Valley Peets at 10 am. If you want to meet further along the way, coordinate with the ride leader. Company for the final climbs particularly appreciated!

Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. After a two week hiatus, PoE returns, this week with a different starting point. We'll depart from the foot of Tunnel at the fire memorial at 8:30. Your time squeezed leader will do about 30 miles up Tunnel, Grizzly to Fish Ranch, through Wilder, Moraga/SPDR to Wildcat, then to Grizzly and down Tunnel. Others may choose to extend if they are able to find undamaged roads. As usual, RSVPs requested.

Meet at 9:00 am
Meet in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park near the restrooms just west of Ashbury St (https://goo.gl/maps/nyczZNPN7h22). We’ll ride about 20 miles through Golden Gate Park, where we will pass nesting Great Blue Herons at Stow Lake, then south along Ocean Beach and around Lake Merced, looking for other nesting birds and migrants. The route is not flat like our usual creek and bayshore rides, but there are no large or steep hills. We will ride mostly multiuser paths and streets with bike lanes or low traffic. Bring binoculars, water, and snacks. (If you need to borrow binoculars, email Pat). This birding ride is co-listed with the Golden Gate Audubon Society. Helmets required. Rain cancels (e-mail Pat for updates if the weather is questionable).
The best way to come from the East Bay is via BART. The Panhandle restroom is about 2 miles and 200’ of climbing from Civic Center BART. Chris Witt will meet riders who email him by 6 PM Friday (ctwitt@sonic.net), and escort them to the ride start (cell morning of the ride to facilitate contact at BART: 415 200 8193). Plan to arrive on the 8:31 or 8:36 Bart trains, and exit to UN Plaza to meet the escort between the elevator and the top of the escalator. Here is the RideWithGPS route from BART to the Panhandle that Pat likes: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16292705. An alternative well marked route takes Market St. to the Duboce bikeway and follows the “wiggle” to the Panhandle (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19701224

Note: Please BRING YOUR LUNCH. There is not a convenient place to stop for food where you won't have to ride a good mile or two out of the way to buy it.
We will ride the Grizzly Peak North Loop starting with San Pablo Dam Road, Castro Ranch Road, scenic San Pablo Blvd, Carquinez Scenic Drive, McEwen, Alhambra Valley followed by the 3 Bears. Don't let this ride's low mileage fool you: it is hard! Bring lunch or $ to buy. No drop. Helmets strongly encouraged. Rain cancels; if weather is dubious contact ride leader.

Start Location:
Pena Adobe Park
Come enjoy one of the standard Wednesday Ride routes from Pena Adobe Park in Vacaville out to the bike mecca of Winters. We'll do a lollipop loop, going all the way out Pleasants Valley Road to Hwy 128 before heading east to Winters for a short coffee/snack break before heading back via Putah Creek (no climb up Cantelow Road due to the road being washed out). Coffee/snacks at Steady Eddy's on the green in Winters. Expect some low rolling hills and lots of lush green landscape. Meet at Pena Adobe Park in Vacaville, just off I-80 (plenty of parking along the street just outside the park entrance). Bring clothing suitable for the weather. 20% or greater chance of rain cancels. Leader rides a fast TM pace, but everyone comfortable following a cue sheet is welcome.
