Meet at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm start
Start Location: Berkeley - Aquatic Park Playground
Join us on our May Full Moon Ride along the coast of the Berkeley, and Richmond Marinas. According to ancient beliefs “the highest energy occurs at the Full Moon, and this is the most powerful time for magical workings” … we would like to use this energy, as we ride our bicycles along the coast, as a tool to materialize our most secret desires. The moonrise will be at 5:35pm, and if it is a clear day we will be to see the moon slowly emerging on the horizon. A fresh, savory meal will be awaiting for us at Luca Cucina Italiana, 2057 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, 510.649.9718, where we will immerse ourselves in a rich tapestry of aromas, and flavors; with a glass of red wine, will have an oblation for Selene, the Moon Goddess to show her our gratitude, and a toast for all the Full Moon Lovers; with this in mind some of the riders may bring wine to share. Please, let us know if you will be dining with us, thus we can let the restaurant know. Bring the bike that it is going to make you feel more at ease. Dress warm, wear bright colors, and BRING GOOD LIGHTS … We will meet at Aquatic Park, in Berkeley, at the feet of the pedestrian bridge, intersection of Bolivar Dr. and Addison St. We will ride as a Group.. If the weather is dubious please check the listing for a weather update the night before or call the leaders. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Planned destination is the Bear Claw Cafe, a quaint, old-timey family bakery in downtown Pinole, with a visual historical treat in the alcove next to the building. Faster riders are welcome, too...just save me a Bear Claw! Bring a friend. Optional lunch at Orinda Square (Petra's Greek Cafe, Europa Hof-Brau, Nation's burgers, Subway, Peet's and Starbucks). https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14580950 Check out Social Biker Group on Facebook. Option (b) is that we will also pass by Millbrae BART at mile 65 where riders can choose to finish.

Ride repeats on the Third Saturday of each month.
Ride out to Pinole, along San Pablo Dam Road and Pinole Valley Road. Our goal is to get some riders who may cringe at riding the hilly 'bears route'; but who would like to do about 30 miles to maybe get back into riding again. Daly City BART
We will begin at Daly City BART, and gently climb up Skyline Dr before descending to Pacifica. We will then climb up Devil's Slide to get to Half-Moon Bay where we will stop for an early lunch. We will then head to our big climb of our day, Tunitas Creek Rd, which cuts across the Peninsula. Then, we will head back up the Peninsula and Hillside Blvd to finish at Daly City BART.
The 'main' option above is a 75 mile ride, with a total elevation gain of about 5600', with the ! in the ride rating referring to the climb to get across the Peninsula. Option (b) is that we will also pass by Millbrae BART at mile 65 where riders can choose to finish. Option (c) is that depending on finish time, the leader might then decide to take a jaunt up Twin Peaks then wander over to Pacific Heights before descending to Embarcadero BART (88 miles, 7400').
Meet at Daly City BART at 9:00am, and pre-registration is encouraged. RSVP is appreciated so I know how many cue sheets to print. 20% POP cancels.
