30 Mile Route
Description
The 30 mile course has about 2,600 feet of climbing, so it isn't easy! From the start at St Mary's College it heads out to Canyon and the tough early climb of Pinehurst Road. Then it's on to the beautiful views of Skyline and Grizzly Peak to the Island rest stop in Tilden Park. A sweet descent of Wildcat Canyon Road takes you to Camino Pablo for the ride to the finish and the post-ride meal.
Alternative Car-Free Start
If you use our car-free start at Island Picnic Area, just join the regular route and you will soon get to St Mary's College where the barbeque takes place. Enjoy your meal, then ride the 18 miles back to Island (which will be long since closed), or deviate from the course at whatever point is best for your return trip home. Use the directions on the start of the cue sheet if you need help.
Don't Start Too Early
For our 30 mile route, please do not start too early. If you start early or hammer the route, you might finish before we start serving lunch at noon. Slow down, be safe, and enjoy the ride! If you do get to lunch too early, don't worry, it's a good place to hang out.
