Meet at 8:45 am for a 9:00 am start
GPC Route: Bike to Bridge to BLTs to Boat to Beer
Start Location: Oakland Ferry Terminal in Jack London Square
Pre-registration
Join us for a fun first Ride from Oakland's Jack London Square up the Bay Trail and across the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge, down to Sausalito for lunch (BLTs) at Dunphy Park, across the Golden Gate Bridge to the San Francisco Ferry Terminal, ferry Boat back to Jack London Square, and end the ride with a Beer at Original Pattern Brewing!
Encouraging pictures of the Bs along the route!
This is a NO DROP T-pace ride (fun first!), much of the route is on shared use paths, though there are some tricky street sections, and careful navigation is required at several points. While quite flat and gradual overall, the biggest challenge (and reason for the 2 terrain rating) is climbing out of Sausalito up to the Golden Gate Bridge.
LOGISTICS:
Meet at the Oakland Ferry Terminal (10 Clay St. in Jack London Square) ready to Bike!
- BART Stations, Lake Merritt and 12th / Oakland City Center, are both a few bikeable blocks from the start / finish.
- Parking is available at the 101 Washington St. Garage and is free with validation of your paper parking slip when leaving the ferry.
Lunch options include BLTs from Sausalito Gourmet Deli (or your favorite sandwich), bringing your own, or other places near Dunphy Park.
We will aim to catch the 2:30pm or 3:30pm ferry Boat back to Oakland.
- Ferry fares are $4.50 with plastic or mobile Clipper Card (recommended), or $5.75 at the terminal / onboard (cash or credit).
Option to join the leaders for post-ride Beer at Original Pattern Brewing (outside seating, Taiwanese-style Bao & Noodles available to snack on)!
