Meet at 9:00 am for a 9:05 am start
Start Location: Domingo Peet's
Pre-registration
Hey all I posted this on the BBC Project_Diablo Page but wanted to share with the GPC community as well: I've been doing some solo training but I'm missing the great Mount Diablo Challenge group rides we did ahead of the event last year. I'd like to get a good group going on Saturday September 20th. We'll start at Domingo Peet's 9am and go EASY to Oak Hill Park at the foot of the mountain. Anyone who wants to intercept at the park we'll be there at 11am. We roll to the event's start line from there and it's pick your own pace to the top, where we'll regroup and ride back the way we came: South Gate, St. Mary's etc back to the East Bay. Route is around 80 miles door to door and we get it done in about 7 hours with some BART bail out options on the way back. This is 2 weeks out from the event so it's a good chance to get the mountain in the legs one last time ahead of the event. This is also a great social opportunity where you can talk about your pacing goals and maybe find some friends that you can work with on race day. Please note this is not a typical GPC ride: It is a DROP ride. Pace out and back will be very easy but all riders will be expected to be fully self-sufficient in terms of food, tools, route, etc. Know your limits, equipment and bailout options please. Approximate route is below please note the posted route does not start at Domingo Peet's which is our official starting point (see above). Hope to see you there! https://www.strava.com/routes/3403445368278211976
