Del puerto loop
Leader: David Brown     (510) 508-4215
Leader: Alison Kuehner     (510) 219-3929
Meet at 7:45 am for a 8:00 am start
Start Location: Livermore - Ernie Rodrigues Softball fields

This is the season to ride this classic route. The weather forecast looks perfect and the spring wildflowers should be in full bloom along Corral Hollow and Del Puerto. In spite of the moderate total elevation this is still a challenging century due to the back loaded climbing and the steep final pitch of Del Puerto. We’ll stop at the market at mile 23, lunch in Patterson strip mall at mile 49. Don’t count on the junction cafe (mile 75) being open, but there is always water at the fire station. There’s also a spring along Del Puerto with potable water, I’ll try to put it on the map. Note there is 50 miles of backroads (no cell service) on this route so make sure you and your bike are in good shape and you have necessary spares, etc. Meet at Ernie Rodrigues field (yes there are bathrooms) and be ready to roll by 8:00. We’ll keep a high TM pace and try to get back by 4:00.
RWGPS route

UPDATE:

Note: Tesla road washed out in February and is now closed (thanks Steve Hahn for the warning). I updated the route to go over Patterson pass instead. The mileage is nearly the same and the total elevation goes down.

Update: NO water at the fire station or at Junction. We will definitely stop at the spring but be sure to carry plenty of water between Patterson and back to start.
