Every year since 1975 the Grizzly Peak Cyclists have hosted the Grizzly Peak Century. The event is known for its challenging but beautiful terrain and gourmet home-made food. This page has only the basic information. There are many more details on the rest of the site.
The 2018 Grizzly Peak Century was held on Sunday May 6, 2018.
The main start/finish and post-ride meal location is Campolindo High School, 300 Moraga Rd, Moraga, CA. Parking at Campolindo is limited, so if you are driving there, please try to carpool with other riders if you can. We also offer a car-free alternative start in Tilden Park. For details on both options see our Start Locations page.
Rider check-in is 6:30 am to 8:30 am at Campolindo (7:30 am to 10:00 am at Island Picnic Area in Tilden Park if you use the alternative car-free start). We urge slower riders to get an early morning start.
New Route This year
New this year is a 52 mile "half century" route. This route is the heart of our longer north loop route, offering plenty of climbing, great views, and a sufficient amount of exercise. It is the Century Chairperson's favorite option!
Standard Route Options
Now there are four standard routes to choose from, all of them very hilly: 52 miles, 76 miles, 102 miles, and 110 miles. The latter three routes are identical for the first 73 miles (the north loop), at which point the metric century route returns to the finish while the two full century routes continue onto the south loop. The 52 mile route bypasses the middle third of the north loop. For more information see the Routes page.
Mixed Terrain Route - Status
We regret that we will not offer a Mixed Terrain Route option this year. Maybe next year.
Entry fees for 2018 range from $65 (early registration) to $85 (century day, if available). The ride is limited to 1,000 riders and has sold out for many years, so you should register early if possible. We also have a variety of century-related items available for purchase when you register.

Century Prep Rides
Join us for a series of nine rides for intermediate bicyclists who want to build stamina and increase range. The rides will be on consecutive Sundays, beginning February 28, and will gradually progress in distance from about 25 to about 55 miles. All are over moderately hilly terrain, similar to that of the century. Those who complete the series should be well-prepared to ride at least the 76-mile (metric century) route. For more information see our Century Prep Series page.
Donations (Where does my fee go?)
We donate most of the proceeds raised from our century to organizations and causes that promote or help bicycling in some way — be it advocacy, safety, education, awareness, or the bicycling environment. See our donations page for details.
