Due to the COVID-19 situation, we canceled our century scheduled for May of 2021. We were planning a fully supported smaller event on September 12, 2021 and a return to the traditional full century in May of 2022. We have now decided not to hold the September event. We hope to see you in May of 2022.
The 2022 Grizzly Peak Century will be held on Sunday May 1, 2022.
The main start/finish and post-ride meal location is Campolindo High School, 300 Moraga Rd, Moraga, CA. Parking at Campolindo is limited, so if you are driving there, please try to carpool with other riders if you can. We also offer a car-free alternative start in Tilden Park. For details on both options see our Start Locations page.
Rider check-in is 6:30 am to 8:30 am at Campolindo (7:30 to 10:00 am at Island Picnic Area in Tilden Park if you use the alternative car-free start). We urge slower riders to get an early morning start.
There are three routes to choose from, all of them very hilly: 50 miles, 75 miles, and 100 miles. The latter two routes are identical for the first 73 miles (the north loop), at which point the 75 mile route returns to the finish while the full century route continues on to the south. For more information see the Routes page.
Entry fees for 2022 will be published here near the end of 2021. The ride is limited to 1,000 riders and has sold out for many years, so you should register early if possible. We will also have a variety of century-related items available for purchase when you register.
- Your choice of three beautiful routes
- Cue sheet and road markings
- Rest stops at 15 - 25 mile intervals
- Clothing drop at the first rest stop (Island Picnic Area)
- Basic mechanic service at all rest stops
- SAG vehicle support
- A fabulous post-ride barbeque
In 2017 many local cycling events were affected by road closures due to winter storm damage and some events in the Pacific Northwest were affected by wildfires. In response, starting in 2018, the Grizzly Peak Century has purchased Event Cancellation Insurance. This will allow us to offer riders a full refund if our event must be cancelled due to road closures, fire, earthquake, extreme weather, or other natural disaster, even if we have already spent part of the registration fees on non-refundable century preparations.
Other Items For Sale
See our Merchandise page for information on custom designed T-shirts which can be ordered with your registration.
Century Prep Rides
Join us for a series of nine rides for intermediate bicyclists who want to build stamina and increase range. The rides will be on consecutive Sundays, beginning March 1, and will gradually progress in distance from about 25 to about 55 miles. All are over moderately hilly terrain, similar to that of the century. Those who complete the series should be well-prepared to ride at least the 75 mile (metric century) route. For more information see our Century Prep Series page.
Donations (Where does my fee go?)
We donate most of the proceeds raised from our century to organizations and causes that promote or help bicycling in some way — be it advocacy, safety, education, awareness, or the bicycling environment. See our donations page for details.
Let our motto be your guide —
