Grizzly Peak Century
Changes Since Last Year

This page summarizes the main changes in the Grizzly Peak Century since 2007. Even if you rode the Century last year, it's still a good idea to review the detailed information page.

Parking

Parking spaces in the parking at the high school's parking lot have always been limited. This year, those spaces are reserved for carpoolers. People driving alone will be asked to park on the street.

Time Limits

The overall closing time changes to 6:00pm this year. That's one hour earlier than previous years. We won't try to haul you off the course at 6pm (these are public roads, you can ride all night if you want!) but at 6pm our volunteers will be packing up to go home. A limited amount of SAG and cold food will be available after 6pm for stragglers.

That means you'll need to start early and keep moving if you want to complete the entire 112 mile course by closing time. For more detail see the section on times and time limits.

Route

This year we return to our classic route for the Berkeley segment: Grizzly Peak Blvd north all the way to Spruce St, then ride the full length of Wildcat Canyon Rd. This lengthens the north loop to 73 miles and the entire course to 112 miles. Plan accordingly!

For full detail, including maps and cue sheets, see the section on route.

Going Green

We're making changes behind the scenes to reduce the environmental impact of our Century. Here are some ways you can help:
